EVENTS
LOYAL Rescue has no upcoming events. Please keep an eye on our Events page for future happenings in your area!
HOLIDAY SEASON - Only 12 days left until Christmas!
It's almost that time of year again! Wondering what to get the person who has everything? Why not donate to LOYAL Rescue on their behalf? It's quick and easy, and a tax receipt issues immediately when you donate securely online. Visit our Donate page for donation options, and give the gift that keeps on giving to our rescued dogs in need this holiday season.
The holidays are often a busy time for rescue in terms of owner surrenders, while the intake of applications can slow down as people go away on holidays. As we are volunteer run, our volunteers also go away to spend time with friends and family. Our administrative process can take a little longer than using during the month of December and into early January, and we thank everyone for their patience. Please know that our goal is to get dogs into loving homes and we are working as quickly as we can with our limited resources.
Please note that many dogs - especially puppies - are given as gifts during the holiday season. LOYAL Rescue does not condone pets as gifts to children or to adults, and our adoption process is not negotiable. Everyone in the home, including all that will be in contact with the dog, must be a part of the adoption process. A volunteer will still conduct a home visit and will meet all those in the family. Surprises for family members are not suitable for our rescued dogs, and LOYAL will not accept applications from interested adopters who are looking to give a dog or dogs as a gift to someone else. Please do your research and put a lot of though into your decision before you decide to adopt a dog (or any animal) this holiday season.
That being said, we welcome all interested adopters to submit applications through our website. We would love to find loving, committed homes for our rescued dogs for the holidays. Some have never had a family to call their own, and the best gift that a rescued dog could receive this holiday season is for a forever family to call their own!
SECRET SANTA
Thank you to all who contacted us to participate in this year's Secret Santa foster match-up! 35 dogs have now been matched with Santas and should be receiving their gifts soon! Fantastic!
SUPPORT US!
Thank you to everyone who bid in the Helping Homeless Pets auction! LOYAL raised over $250 through donations for items donated in our name! A huge thank you to all those who donated items, including DearSukie, DCImaginations, WagsandWiggles and Becca Illustration & Design! Stay tuned for the next HHP auction in early 2012 where more LOYAL items will be featured, including a family / pet photo shoot by the talented Triebe Photography!
Adorable snowman dog toy from WagsandWiggles!
Reminder that Funny Farm Boutique will be donating $5 from every collar and every leash purchase to LOYAL Rescue! Here is a link to the promotion blog post for more details. A few people have already made purchases and the donations are already rolling in! Happy shopping!
Thank you to all who voted in the Helping Homeless Pets Click Challenge. Unfortunately LOYAL could not pull ahead to win, but the votes were appreciated nonetheless. Hopefully we can grab the lead in the next challenge!

NEW ARRIVALS
The following dogs are new to rescue and are now available on our website:
Bandit is a 9-year-old, male Chihuahua who hails from Cambridge. His foster mom reports that he is calm and pleasant, and that he gets along with other dogs around his size. He loves to be with his humans, walks well on a leash and sleeps in his crate like a champ!
Dexter is a 1-year-old, male Boxer. This goofy, playful and sweet young guy gets along well with other dogs but should not go to a home with cats. He enjoys the company of kids and is currently being fostered in Ottawa.
Gemma is an approximately 1-year-old (or slightly younger), female Collie mix. Gemma is very sweet and very energetic, and gets along well with other playful dogs. Gemma would be fine in a home with children, and could learn to live with cats (she's working on it!). She is being fostered in Elmvale.
Joe Cocker (get it?! ha!) is a 1-2-year old, male Cocker Spaniel. He is a very calm, happy-go-lucky young man who grew up in some very poor conditions, but he doesn't let that bring him down! Joe does well with other dogs, cats and kids, and is being fostered in Milton. **PENDING ADOPTION**: Joe already has a pending adoption! That was quick, but can you blame them? Look at that handsome face!
PENDING
Beans, Bentley, Sapphire, Sherman, Toto, and Wicket have approved forever homes and are currently pending adoption. We are no longer accepting applications for these dogs. Thank you for your interest!
We are processing very promising applications for the remainder of our Dane-Newf-Lab puppies, as well as for Timmy, so please contact us before submitting an application for any of these dogs.
ADOPTED
Lady found her forever home this week. Congratulations to Lady and her new family!
See you next Monday for another Rescue Round-up!
