Dogs of the Week: Joey and Mickey
Meet Joey and Mickey!
Joey and Mickey are Maltese brothers who were surrendered to rescue by their owners. They were in pretty bad shape, but have since had full vetting, as well as a number of teeth removed, and are now in tip top shape and looking for their forever homes.
These boys are 10+ years old, and despite growing up together are not particularly bonded, so have been living in separate foster homes for the last few months. Joey is being fostered in Mississauga, and Mickey in Kitchener.

Both boys are good with other small dogs, but it is unknown whether they are good with cats. Older kids only are recommended as they have had little to no exposure to children throughout their lives.
If you think that you can provide a safe, loving, forever home to one (or both) of these boys, and are looking for a sweet, hypoallergenic lap dog, please send us an e-mail or submit an application through our website. Joey and Mickey are waiting!

Dog of the week: William!
Meet sweet, adorable William!
Luckily LOYAL Rescue was able to offer this sweet guy a spot, and now he's living in a foster home in Mississauga where he is never crated, and even gets to sleep on a human bed at night! He's moving on up!
William is a friendly, outgoing, active, affectionate senior Yorkshire Terrier who will be a whopping 13 years young on August 1, 2011.
William has received the best in care for his life so far, and enjoyed monthly groomings and yearly dental appointments with his former owners. Because of this care, William is in tip top physical shape and has no health issues to speak of aside from the start of cataracts, which is not at all strange given his age. He is not on any medications.
William enjoys a warm lap, being carried, and rides well in a car, but he also enjoys his daily walks and has great leash skills. He loves to romp in the grass and enjoys the company of other dogs and cats in his foster home. He would do fine with children who are respectful of his small size (he's only 7 lbs.!) and the fact that he is a senior guy.
If you think you could provide a safe, loving home to William for the rest of his days (and don't let his age fool you, William could easily have a good 3-4 years left in him, or maybe more!), please submit an application through our website or contact his foster mom for more information. You can also visit his foster mom's blog! Tweet
William came into on Ohio rescue last year when his owner trafically passed away and he found himself without a home. Unfortunately the rescue in Ohio could not provide William with a suitable foster home, and he spent the better part of the last year in a home with large dogs that stepped on him. Because of this he spent 99% of his time in his crate.

Visit us at Woofstock!
LOYAL Rescue will have a booth at Woofstock this weekend, both days from 10am-6pm.
Never been to Woofstock before? It's a fun outdoor event near St. Lawrence Market in Toronto where tons of vendors and rescue groups get together to celebrate pets! Dogs are, of course, welcome, and there is no admission price!
LOYAL Rescue will be in the Rescue Village (hosted by K9 Rescue Me) with many other rescue groups. The Village is located in Berczy Park, which is on Front Street, West of Jarvis.
Make a point to stop by and say hello, bring lots of cash for the amazing vendors (there are always deals to be found!), and don't forget your umbrella!
Hope to see you there! Tweet

Dogs of the Week: Sonny & Cher!
This isn't the first time that Sonny & Cher have been our Dogs of the Week! Sadly, this dynamic duo is still searching for a forever family! Can you believe it?
If you think you could give a loving home to this precious pair, send us an e-mail or submit an application through our website!
As you know, Sonny & Cher are 9-10 year old Chihuahuas who are a very bonded pair. They are currently being fostered in Ottawa, ON, and they have been in rescue far too long!
They are a hilarious quirky pair who want nothing more than to cuddle up on a lap or in a bed together, and get tons of love and attention. They are good with other dogs and with cats, and would be fine with older, respectful children who understand that they are seniors.
You can check out some more adorable photos and even some video of this pair when they had an overnight visit with another LOYAL volunteer!
If you think you could give a loving home to this precious pair, send us an e-mail or submit an application through our website!
Don't make Sonny & Cher wait any longer for a forever home!
