William came into on Ohio rescue last year when his owner trafically passed away and he found himself without a home. Unfortunately the rescue in Ohio could not provide William with a suitable foster home, and he spent the better part of the last year in a home with large dogs that stepped on him. Because of this he spent 99% of his time in his crate.
William is a friendly, outgoing, active, affectionate senior Yorkshire Terrier who will be a whopping 13 years young on August 1, 2011.
William has received the best in care for his life so far, and enjoyed monthly groomings and yearly dental appointments with his former owners. Because of this care, William is in tip top physical shape and has no health issues to speak of aside from the start of cataracts, which is not at all strange given his age. He is not on any medications.
William enjoys a warm lap, being carried, and rides well in a car, but he also enjoys his daily walks and has great leash skills. He loves to romp in the grass and enjoys the company of other dogs and cats in his foster home. He would do fine with children who are respectful of his small size (he's only 7 lbs.!) and the fact that he is a senior guy.
If you think you could provide a safe, loving home to William for the rest of his days (and don't let his age fool you, William could easily have a good 3-4 years left in him, or maybe more!), please submit an application through our website or contact his foster mom for more information.
