Foster update - February 21, 2011

Wondering what dogs are new to rescue and who has recently found their forever home? This weekly update is your key to keeping track of LOYAL's adoptable dogs!

NEW ARRIVALS

Annie is a 5-7-year old Yorkshire Terrier-Australian Terrier mix who came to us in late January from an Ohio puppy mill. Annie has spent her entire life to-date in a mill, and is only now able to enjoy the sun, wind and snow on her face. She is still a bit timid and learning to trust humans, but her foster home is working on her socialization and building her confidence. Annie gets along well with other dogs and cats, but would do best in a home without small children. Annie is currently being fostered in Courtice, ON, just outside Bowmanville.

Brittania Ice is a senior girl - a 14-year-old Bichon Frise who has a sad story to tell. See, Brittania lived her entire life with her devoted mom until one day her mom went to the hospital for radiation treatment and did not come home. Brittania was suddenly without a family and in need of rescue. Brittania is a friendly girl who loves dogs, cats and kids, and who would make a lovely companion dog. She is looking for a forever home where she can spend the remainder of her days being spoiled and loved. Brittania is currently being fostered in Toronto, ON.

PHOTO COMING SOON!

Chloe is an 18-month-old Chihuahua who is in need of a new forever home. Chloe is a friendly, quiet girl who enjoys the company of other small dogs. It is unknown how she feels about cats or children, but older kids (10+) would likely be ok if they were respectful of her small size. Chloe is very new to rescue and is settling in nicely in her Iroquois, ON foster home.

Norton is a tiny 6-year-old male Poodle who spent his entire life in a puppy mill helping to provide endless litters of Poodle puppies to pet stores. What a sad life! But now Norton has nothing but blue skies ahead of him as he has been rescued and is now living the good life in his foster home. Norton is good with dogs and cats, and should be fine in a home with older kids or teenagers, but not small children due to his very small size (he's a whopping 3.5 lbs.!). Norton is being fostered in Uxbridge, ON.

Stella, a 6-month-old Dachshund mix, has finally arrived into rescue after a brief delay in the U.S. She is a spunky, adorable cuddle bug who just loves life. Stella loves cats, dogs and kids, and would love a home with a fenced yard to romp in and a family that will not leave her around for more than 6 hours during the day. She came to us from a shelter in Kentucky, and is now in a foster home in Mississauga, ON. Stella will make an amazing little pet to a lucky family!

Tienna is an adorable 18-month-old, female Jack Russell Terrier-Pug mix (a Jug!). She is an owner surrender who recently arrived to rescue, and her foster mom is happy to report that Tienna's disposition is just as sweet as her face! She loves dogs and would be fine with older (5+) kids, and would very likely be ok with cats as well. She is playful and well-behaved, and currently being fostered in Peterborough, ON.
