Pooch Profile: Jimmy's Story

"I'll bet a lot of you folks don't believe that, about a wish comin' true, do ya? Well, I didn't, either...".
~ Jiminy Cricket, Pinocchio (1940)

Jimmy, or Jiminy Cricket, if you please, has been in rescue for over a year! Can you believe it?!

Jimmy originally came to us from Ohio when his owner died and was no longer able to care for him and his nine brothers and sisters.

Jimmy is an approximately 10-year-old Silky Terrier who is neutered, up-to-date with his shots, and who, other than being blind in one eye and having no teeth (they were removed due to rot), is in great health! Don't let his senior age fool you, Jimmy still has many years of love and life left in him!

Jimmy gets along great with small dogs like him, and doesn't mind big dogs if they are submissive and respectful of his size, and he just loves the resident cat in his Niagara Falls, ON foster home. He would do well in a home with older children (12+) only due to his age and his low energy level.

This spunky terrier loves to go for walks and is a totally low-maintenance guy. He does require weekly brushing to keep his long coat in good condition, but he is otherwise happy to lounge on your lap or bounce around the backyard with his foster pals.

He also does a mean Hoover impression when crumbs hit the kitchen floor!

Jimmy is currently home a typical working day (around 8 hours) without issue, and does not need to be crated as he is not a destructive guy. When his humans are home, however, he loves to spend time with them. A little dog companion might not be too bad either!

For more information on Jimmy, visit his blog (oh yeah, he has his own blog!), our website, or submit an application for adoption. And stay tuned to his Petfinder profile as he's having professional photos taken on February 2, 2011 and can't wait to show them off!

Can you make Jimmy's wish for a new home come true? We promise this goofy guy will not disappoint! Jimmy's waiting for you!

Happy adopting!
